Over 60 Brave Michigan Blizzard to Attend Film Festival E-mail
Friday, January 20 over 60 people made their way to Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan to attend the screening of "Wegmans Cruelty". The screening was part of the mini film festival "Eating Well?: The Hidden Costs of Factory-Farmed Food".

"Wegmans Cruelty" played alongside "The True Cost of Food", an animated short from The Sierra Club, and "The Video The Egg Industry Doesn't Want You To See" from Ohio-based Mercy for Animals.

Other groups represented at the film festival include Uniting for Justice, Farms Without Harm and Grand Rapids Institute for Information Democracy. Prior to the film festival organizers had received inquiries from students and faculty at the University of Michigan, Michigan State University, and Kalamazoo College.

"We're happy that 'Wegmans Cruelty' is so well received in regions where people haven't even heard of the grocery chain," said Nicole Matthews of Compassionate Consumers, who presented at the festival. "The film is about an industry gone bad, and people respond to that message."
